Well, that’s that! The invitations have been sent out! This is a very definitive step in the wedding planning process, we’d say.

April 19, 2011 - 8:26 pm No Comments

It’s been a busy few months, but we’ve gotten a lot done.

We finally decided on a florist, booked a block of rooms, ordered the bridesmaid dresses, and are in the process of determining a rehearsal dinner location!

There’s plenty still left on our to-do list, but we’re making progress. Less than 5 months to go :)

Bridesmaid Dresses: A mission in itself

March 6, 2011 - 5:42 pm No Comments

Danielle had grand plans for her bridesmaid dresses – pick a designer and a color, and let the girls run free in terms of dress style. Well, that proved to be more difficult that originally thought, since the color green she and Andy were planning as their main color was hard to come by. This sent Danielle into a downward spiral of epic proportions, doubting her decision on the color, the theme of the day, and almost every other decision she had made up to that point. Thanks to the calm demeanor of Andy and her mom, things started to turn around.

After a trip to Macy’s, where the manager of the bridal boutique was a fantastic help, Danielle had decided on a designer (Alfred Sung), dress style, fabric, and most importantly, perfect green color. Never proving easy, though, her sister Kate wasn’t a fan of the dress style. Thankfully, the designer had a few other dresses available in the fabric and color Danielle picked out, so Kate was able to get something different. Frequently the maid of honor has something to designate herself from the other bridesmaids anyway, so Kate’s dress should do the trick.

While at Macy’s Danielle stumbled upon the perfect party dress. Since they were having a sale, she snagged that, which she’s planning to wear for the rehearsal dinner. Her mom also found her dress, so needless to say the two trips to Macy’s proved to be some of the most productive yet!

The next task at hand, however, seems somewhat daunting – flowers. Neither Danielle or Andy have a “favorite” flower, which is what every florist they’ve talked to has asked first. Not only do they not have a favorite, they really don’t know anything about flowers. So, this should prove to be an interesting experience. Thankfully, though, Danielle and Andy are managing to keep their cool, and fit in time to make these big decisions with their busy schedule.

Stay tuned!

Save the Date!

It’s official – our Save the Dates have been mailed out… no going back now!

A big thank you to our friend Danielle for taking the photos in Disney for us, and another big thank you to our friend Nikki for taking that picture and designing an awesome card with it.

Here’s one of the photos we didn’t choose…

She headed to Priscilla of Boston in Short Hills, NJ with her mom and sister to try on some dresses. Here she is before the big event:

We Elfed ourselves (well, Danielle did)… Happy Holidays!!

Move day is almost here

October 27, 2010 - 11:10 pm No Comments

As some of you may know already, the two of us are leaving our place in Highland Park and moving to Somerset. It’s not a far move at all, but it is certainly a lot of work. We have a ton of stuff and there are boxes everywhere.

We made a video of what the apartment looks like right now. We’ve got two days until we get the keys so there’s still plenty more to do.

We had brunch at Perona Farms again

September 26, 2010 - 9:53 pm No Comments

So while we may be risking visiting our wedding venue too many times before the wedding, we went back to Perona Farms to have brunch there again. It was delicious. We really can’t wait for the food at our reception…it’s a shame we have to wait another year still.

The Countdown Begins – ONE YEAR!

September 10, 2010 - 9:34 am No Comments

That’s right folks, in exactly one year Andy and Danielle will be officially married!

Can you believe it? We can’t! It still seems so far away, yet has become increasingly more real. As we mentioned in our last post, our wedding planning has taken a back seat over the past few months, with both Andy and Danielle back on the running game training for their next half marathon in Disney World, Danielle back in school, and just every day life with work and errands. Oh to be grown-ups!

Now that we’re within the year mark, I guess we should get planning. On to stationary and favors! And maybe one day we’ll get our engagement photos done too!

Wedding planning – we remember you!

September 6, 2010 - 8:18 pm No Comments

So we’ve been slacking lately in terms of wedding planning. After getting things like the venue, photographer, DJ, and officiant out of the way, we felt as though there was still plenty of time to relax. We’re starting to realize, though, that there is still A LOT to be done. Invitations and save the dates, flowers, favors, THE DRESS!, tuxes, reception accessories, and lots of other odds and ends. We’re in the process of working on getting that wedding planning spark back, and consulting The Knot on what’s next. Don’t worry – we’ll keep you posted!

Even though our wedding planning has been minimal (read: non-existant), we have been running A LOT! We recently purchased a pair of Vibram Five Fingers, and you can check out what both Andy and Danielle think about them, here and here respectively. We also decided, and officially registered, for the Disney World Half Marathon in January! That’s right friends, we’re running a half marathon again. So, in order to prepare ourselves the best we can this time around, we’re starting training early, keeping our milage as high as possible, to ensure an enjoyable trip for us both before and after the race. In the meantime, we’ll be running a few 5k’s through October and November to just have some fun. We’ll also be registering to participate again in the second annual Rutgers Unite Half Marathon in April. From there, depending on how it goes, we might sign up to run a full mary next fall. Yes, that’s right, probably about a month after the wedding. Are we crazy?! YES!!

Quick little update

August 11, 2010 - 8:27 pm No Comments

So we launched this thing and then haven’t touched it since. Shame on us! The wedding planning front has been quiet lately. We burned out early, but we also have most of the big stuff out of the way with 13 months to go still. We’re feeling pretty good about that, but now we’re trying to decide where we should go on our honeymoon. We want something that’s more relaxing than adventurous since we’ll probably need to just kick back and take it easy after the wedding. Right now, Hawaii is the front-runner, but we’re open to ideas!

A couple weeks ago, we had a BBQ for our wedding party. The idea was to have everyone meet and get to know each other a bit, but Danielle and I totally dropped the ball on introducing people. Instead, my friends mostly hung out with each other and hers mostly hung out together. I also meant to take pictures of everyone for the site and completely forgot about it. I had my camera and snapped away, but didn’t get individual pictures of most of the party. Fail. I’ll get some pictures of those suckers soon though. Until then, here are a few pictures that I took.

It’s alive!!!!

Well, here we are, We’re so cheesy, we know! Oh, how we know. Planning a wedding is a lot of work, but there’s a lot of fun to it as well. We decided that we wanted to chronicle both the fun parts and the not-so-fun parts so we’ve got a website going here to do just that.

We originally made a site on, but Andy wanted more so we ended up putting together our own WordPress installation and set it up the way we wanted it.

Keep checking back here, or even subscribe to the RSS feed, if you’re into that kind of thing, and you can stay up to date on the whole process. We’re planning on posting plenty of videos of us dealing with vendors and making decisions. At this point, we’ve got a few things sorted out already. We have a venue, an officiant, a photographer, and our wedding party. You can see a few videos of us during the photographer search below.

After the wedding, we will be keeping this site and ditching most of the wedding stuff in favor of…well, we don’t know yet, but that’s exactly 14 months away as we type this. For now, you can get to know us a little better, in the event that you only know one of us. If you know neither of us, we’re not sure what you’re doing here, but you’re more than welcome.

Oh, and we have Twitter account as well for fellow twitidiots.

We chose our photographer!

We made our decision on the photography front for the wedding! Now we’ve got to work on a DJ, anyone know anyone?

Here’s Danielle signing the contract!

If you’re trying to sell your services, you really need to show up when expected

June 6, 2010 - 4:00 pm No Comments

This was supposed to be the last photographer that we were going to meet with, but after taking a trip to Panera Bread to meet up, he turned out to be a no show. He later emailed us to apologize and say that he mixed up the dates in his calendar, but it was too late by then. We already weren’t too fond of him based on dealing with him via email, but I liked his work, so I was going to still give him a shot when we met with him.

Here are Danielle’s feelings on him…

Thoughts after meeting the photographer

I was a big fan of the photographer we met, but I was still a little confused by the name of his business…

Our second meeting with a possible photographer

May 29, 2010 - 7:31 am No Comments

These are our thoughts before we met with the second possible photographer for the wedding. This meeting involved a drive up to Northwest Jersey.

However, we were about 20 minutes early for the meeting…
